Videos of Marco Rubio’s hydration disaster during his rebuttal to the State of the Union on Tuesday night have gone viral. But what’s been missed, as Jon Stewart noted last night on the Daily Show, is the fact that Rubio gave a speech at all.

And what did the rising star of the Republican party say in that speech? Did he learn from the debacle of Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney, who came off as defensive and whiny? Did he depart from the full-frontal attacks on the very existence of the government he himself aspires to run? Short answer: No.
