A Tale of Bad Journalism: Vodka, Clinton, McCain and Maureen Dowd

Maureen Dowd writes yest another article helping McCain.

A week ago I predicted that the majority of Maureen Dowd's thirty-three remaining columns to be published in the New York Times before the election, would not be helpful to Barack Obama. There have been two columns since then. On Saturday she mocked George W. Bush's trip to the Olympics. It was a hit on the right, but if she was aiming for McCain, she missed. Today, her column returns to the theme of last week: Democratic division and Hillary's treachery. So, after one week, the score is:

Columns helpful to Obama: 0

Columns helpful to McCain: 1

Columns helpful to no one: 1

In today's offering, Dowd has concocted a fantasy world, where John McCain and Hillary Clinton conspire together (with the inconsequential moral support of Jesse Jackson) to sink the candidacy of Barack Obama. It begins:
