Rev. Jesse Jackson made what he later described as "crude and hurtful" remarks about Barack Obama while on the set of Fox News on July 6th. Jackson thought he was talking in private, failing to realize that his microphone was live.

Bill O'Reilly later showed the footage on The O'Reilly Factor, prompting Jackson to make an immediate apology to Obama and his campaign. Jackson also restated his commitment to Obama's presidential bid, saying "I have supported Barack's campaign with passion from the very beginning."

Rachel Maddow plays the clips from O'Reilly's show as well as Jackson's apology. Maddow also discusses what this means for Rev. Jesse Jackson and Obama with former communications director for the John Edwards campaign, Chris Kofinis.
