Judge: NSA Not Compelled to Disclose Spying on Gitmo Attorneys

In other Guantanamo news, a federal judge has rejected a suit that would have forced the National Security Agency to disclose whether it spied on the lawyers of Guantanamo prisoners. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Denise Cote said the NSA does not need to tell lawyers whether they were spied on. Attorneys have claimed they’ve avoided international phone calls out of fear their phones are tapped.

I want to talk about a trip to So Cal. My hubby was giving a talk and we were making a little vacation out of it, going somewhere else afterwards. It is a totally bizarre experience for a northern California girl to spend any real time in So Cal. The University where he was going to talk has a local hotel to put visitors up in and doubles as a girls dorm. I had a day to kill so I went for a swim. The security room is behind a wall of mirrored glass that faces the pool. You can't use the room towels, you have to ask for a pool towel. This act alerts the security to whatever show will happen pool side. Creepy. I just knew our room was bugged. It is sad to observe the death of our Republic and sadder still that we are going out NOT with a bang but a whimper . We could learn a lot from the Europeans on this note . When THEY are upset the get out into the streets and PROTEST . Of course their Media actually covers their Protests unlike here . I happened to get caught up in a large anti war protest in New York City prior to the Invasion of Iraq and it was virtually IGNORED By the Media . Contrast what happened in the Ukraine when they felt the election was stolen hey took to the streets and forced the real winner to become Chief of State . The reason they and , incidentally WE supported them ,felt the election was stolen was The Exit polls disagreeded with the reported results .
