Notorious Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff to be sentenced

Lawyers promise client will continue to sing like a canary.
Lawyers for former Republian super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff filed papers in federal court promising their client will continue to cooperate in a massive public corruption investigation, even after he is sentenced on September 4.

Abramoff faces at least 9-1/2 years in prison for illegal lobbying activities, which included plying legislators with things of value and bilking Indian tribes out of tens of millions of dollars. No doubt his attorneys are hoping that these assurances will move the Washington judge to leniency.
