Don't Bomb Iran! (Video)

By Agit-Pop , True Majority. Posted June 7, 2008.

Bush and McCain are on the warpath.
Upcoming AlterNet stories on Digg

Brought to you by True Majority:

The drumbeat to war with Iran is getting louder. With only a few months left in the Bush Presidency, it's tempting to sit back and wait until November. But belligerent rhetoric and fear mongering about Iran are on the rise. With piles of evidence pointing towards the same sort of fabrication that preceded the Iraq debacle and a thoroughly discredited administration at the helm, kids in the military forced to fight in wars of choice at the behest of powerful corporate interests, and economic problems at home, it's time to tell Washington "enough."

The Obama we do not yet know! A George Bush with communication skills?

Obama would consider missile strikes on Iran
By David Mendell |Tribune staff reporter
September 25, 2004
U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama suggested Friday that the United States one day might have to launch surgical missile strikes into Iran and Pakistan to keep extremists from getting control of nuclear bombs.
Obama, a Democratic state senator from the Hyde Park neighborhood, made the remarks during a meeting Friday with the Tribune editorial board. Obama’s Republican opponent, Alan Keyes, was invited to attend the same session but declined.
Iran announced on Tuesday that it has begun converting tons of uranium into gas, a crucial step in making fuel for a nuclear reactor or a nuclear bomb. The International Atomic Energy Agency has called for Iran to suspend all such activities.
Obama said the United States must first address Iran’s attempt to gain nuclear capabilities by going before the United Nations Security Council and lobbying the international community to apply more pressure on Iran to cease nuclear activities. That pressure should come in the form of economic sanctions, he said.
But if those measures fall short, the United States should not rule out military strikes to destroy nuclear production sites in Iran, Obama said.
“The big question is going to be, if Iran is resistant to these pressures, including economic sanctions, which I hope will be imposed if they do not cooperate, at what point are we going to, if any, are we going to take military action?” Obama asked.
Given the continuing war in Iraq, the United States is not in a position to invade Iran, but missile strikes might be a viable option, he said. Obama conceded that such strikes might further strain relations between the U.S. and the Arab world.
“In light of the fact that we’re now in Iraq, with all the problems in terms of perceptions about America that have been created, us launching some missile strikes into Iran is not the optimal position for us to be in,” he said.
“On the other hand, having a radical Muslim theocracy in possession of nuclear weapons is worse. So I guess my instinct would be to err on not having those weapons in the possession of the ruling clerics of Iran. … And I hope it doesn’t get to that point. But realistically, as I watch how this thing has evolved, I’d be surprised if Iran blinked at this point.”
As for Pakistan, Obama said that if President Pervez Musharraf were to lose power in a coup, the United States similarly might have to consider military action in that country to destroy nuclear weapons it already possesses. Musharraf’s troops are battling hundreds of well-armed foreign militants and Pakistani tribesmen in increasingly violent confrontations.
Obama said that violent Islamic extremists are a vastly different brand of foe than was the Soviet Union during the Cold War, and they must be treated differently.
“With the Soviet Union, you did get the sense that they were operating on a model that we could comprehend in terms of, they don’t want to be blown up, we don’t want to be blown up, so you do game theory and calculate ways to contain,” Obama said. “I think there are certain elements within the Islamic world right now that don’t make those same calculations.
“… I think there are elements within Pakistan right now–if Musharraf is overthrown and they took over, I think we would have to consider going in and taking those bombs out, because I don’t think we can make the same assumptions about how they calculate risks.”

Granted there are Fanatics in that country, but they pose a far less danger to US as long as We keep Our Extremeist under control Too!Not to mention our Glory Seeking Politicans and blood thristy Profitteers.MY skin Crawled when I watched Hagee's 'Armegeddon' Stratedgy, and SAW Mac & LIEberman standing behind him - then Praising Him as equal to Moses and as a 'man of God'. Then When Hillary decided to reveal her complicity with this sociopathic Doctrine "Obliterate Iran" My level of Terror exceeded that on 9/11.Fortunatley I was able to quickly realize 9/11 was not a direct attack on US, we were merely caught in the Cross fire during an Attack on the MIC (Who are the Ones resposnible for Putting our Citizens in harms Way, due to their Global Business Stratedgy and agenda).
This Adminstration has brought our Country to it's knees far more effeciently and completely then any two bit 'terrorist' Orgnaization or Country could have ever Hoped for. In fact this adminstration has been a great Recuiting tool fro such organizations. In fact their blanant finger pointing Towards US poses a Serious naitonal an dInternational Threat for real Attacks upon the Citizens of thei Country. have you seen the latest Propaganda Tool by the Oil Industry? "Do You Own an Oil company?" An attempt to shift blame to US for their Immoral and Unethical Business pracitce. Are they Kidding, WE may have 'investments' in their industry but we are not allowed to determine where our money goes (401K, Retirement, annuity) They never allow the Rank & file to voice their opinions. Regrdless the Oil Industry has Proven it does NOT give a Shit what we think any way.We Demanded they get out of the Middle East and Off their Oil in the '70's!!!!!WE Wanted more fuel efficient vehicles, alternative energy sources and we began townards that without their help.So what did they Do they Blocked every effort we tried ( Killed, hide or maligned innovations) Only When their Profit margin asses were being Kicked by the Japanese did they taek a Short Breath. But then returned to their gas guzzling lead sled production. I never remember US demanding the manufacting of SUV's. Why would we- we don't have 6 kids on average, nor do we have to stuggle with OffRoad conditions. Proof is that regardless of the price of Gas, or the numerous Rollovers caused by their faulty design, they chose to focus on 'More Cup Holders'/DVD players/Corinthian leather! To further their cause they made the Fuel efficient models not only out of Cardboard, but were happy if they did not make the 'Consumer reports' top pick- they wanted their SUV's to be their 'most wanted' vehicle.
Although I abhorr Hillary's "obliterate Iran " War Cry - her point was essentially correct. if need be we can wipe them off the map whenever we want. So why should we waste any more time, Money or Breath on even acknowledging them. This focus on them an dtheir 'Threat' is what emboldens them, legitmizes them and keeps the Assholes in both countries Spewing their BS propaganda!

EIGHT YEARS OF LIES

It's hard to know what to believe no matter who says what. I've read countless books and read news from around the world. The Bush Admin. has created chaos and confusion, a breeding ground for whatever they choose to lie about next. Officers in the military lie. How low can they get? Iran may well be a problem but who out there isn't a threat to us? We alienate everyone. If they can't beat our military force, they can always buy us. Now that's much better! Thanks, ANNA

The power elite control and run this country. They are pro-Israel, want continual wars, and will have their way. The masses are unorganized and thus powerless.
