Novakula was on Bloomberg TV yesterday and said that several of Idaho Larry Craig's colleagues in the Senate knew about his cruising activities in public spaces long before he played footsie in the Minneapolis airport restroom and got caught.

I have talked to several of my sources in the Senate, and this came as a surprise to me...They knew about it. They knew that he had this problem, and it was in the closet. And it was not just a homosexual relationship. It was this weird conduct. They didn't do anything about it.
Of course the obvious question is what exactly would the GOP leadership have done to Craig, given he hadn't been arrested (that we know of) up until this incident. No one pulled him aside to let him know that he was a political ticking time bomb for the Party of Family Values. His friends clearly were hoping to put the blinders on and hope for the best rather than draw attention to another Republican Sexual Hypocrite in their midst.
