SiCKO is "Absolutely Wonderful"

I am in DC for the Take Back America conference, which just ended. It was a terrific, energizing, and exciting conference of thousands of progressives who came together to plan and organize for the years ahead.

We did a workshop on the success of FOX Attacks which has already set off a firestorm on the Drudge Report. How dare we have a blueprint for going after Fox! Damn right. And we are going to continue. Check back here on Tuesday.

Last night, I was able to go to the DC opening of SiCKO. It was absolutely wonderful. Both moving, emotional, funny, and important. No one can see the movie and ever again think our health care is "okay." Michael has used visits to other countries to great effect, making crystal clear that it can be done here, it should be done here, and we have to make sure that it is done here.

The lobby afterward was a mad and hectic scene of rage and rabid discussions about what to do. In the midst of it all were Rep. Maxine Waters, who gave a stirring get out of your seat and yell speech at the conference, and Rep. Jan Schowki, who is literally at the front of every important progressive fight in Congress. The fact they clock in at 5 feet each reminds me of the vertically challenged members of my own family. (My mother to her last day insisted she was 5', not 4'11")

Robert Greenwald is the director/producer of "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price" and "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism."
