Isn't Alternet showing just a little bit too much stupidity buying into the ranking frenzy?? Progressive or not, it's the numbers game, and look around at where this has gotten us as a culture -- shallow, obedient thinking, deference to polls and surveys, infotainment, detachment and complacency.
Meanwhile, just think, fellow Americans everywhere, right now somebody is being tortured in your name, right now another animal or plant species is going extinct from pollution, and right now some coal miners are facing sure death so YOU can flick on the lights and turn on the plasma TV. Just think, just – nehhh, go the fuck back to sleep!
