John 'mustache' Bolton resigns

John Bolton, who had to be appointed UN Ambassador while even a rubber stamp republican congress was out of session, won't be back after his term ends. Both Democrats and Republicans opposed him, although you can expect this to be cast as Democratic stubbornness.
There is, and isn't, a whole lot to say about it. Bush "accepted" Bolton's resignation because he knows he can't win. He's the very definition of a lame duck, with both the impotent and dangerous connotations associated with a wounded animal.
Bolton was a loony toon who was meant to be the ambassador to an institution he loathed. He was an American triumphalist and brat:
"There is no such thing as the United Nations. United States makes the U.N. work when it wants it to work. If the U.N. Secretariat building in New York lost 10 stories, it would not make a bit of difference."Good riddance.
