One of the secrets behind Jon Stewart's success is the fact that even when he's mutilating the shallowest of rightwing arguments, he does so in a way that makes everybody laugh -- even the poor sod who mouthed it.

It makes the comedian's argument come across as sensible and his diss inoffensive.

It's either that phenomenon, or simply the desire for revenge, that sent Bill O'Reilly back to David Letterman's couch after Letterman told him earlier this year that "I have a feeling that 60% of what you say is crap."

In the latest go-round last Friday, O'Reilly mouthed the very same words uttered by Lynne Cheney in her Stepford meltdown on CNN: "Do you want the United States to win in Iraq?"

When Letterman begins to compose an answer too complex for O'Reilly's taste, O'Reilly presses the issue and gets squashed... Watch the video, above right...
