Ned Lamont's latest campaign ad once again features a young Joe Lieberman debating incumbent Lowell Weicker, a three-term Republican, back in 1988.
Lieberman says: "After 18 years, it's time for somebody new, it's time for a change." He also pledges to quit after three terms himself. Watch the ad, right.
Lieberman, who's running as a independent, and whose current lead relies on Republican votes, has said in the past that he'd caucus with the Democrats. At this point, according to Greg Sargent, he refuses to advocate for a Democratic victory:
Lieberman... was asked in an interview published today in the Hartford Courant whether America would be better off if his lifelong party took back the House. The Courant reports that Lieberman responded: "Uh, I haven't thought about that enough to give an answer."
