Last October, Lou Beres, former head of the Oregon Christian Coalition, denied allegations made by family members that he had molested them, blaming "personal and political enemies" for motivating the complaint. But now, according to Gay Rights Watch, Beres has confessed to the charges.
Sources from within the family tell us that Lou Beres told the truth because he thought the police report would stay sealed and the statute of limitations were over.
He got that part right... but not in civil court. Now we've got the report and Mr. Beres is being sued by Liz Jonas, one of the victims he admitted to molesting.
...Beres claims in the police report that he "has sinned in the past". The investigating detective recorded the phone call with Lou Beres with his permission. During this phone call Beres made admissions to three separate victims at three different times. All involved underage females.
In typical fashion, this good Christian child molester has dedicated his public life to denying opportunity to those hideous deviants, the LGBT community. In his role as head of Oregon's Christian Coalition, Beres led the charge against same-sex marriage in that state, suing Multnomah County after it began issuing same-sex marriage licenses, trying (and failing) to force a recall vote for two Multnomah County commissioners who approved the decision, advocating a state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, and opposing legislation that would have permitted civil unions. And when he wasn't busy hatin' on the gays, he was diddling his own daughters.

...different day. Thanks for alerting us, Melissa, to yet another one to add to this comprehensive list.

It's so galling, isn't it? And this on the tails of that report that came out yesterday about 50% of Christians being into porn. I'm an atheist and I don't ever touch the stuff... hmmm... I thought I was supposed to be the immoral one.

You can expect the Christian Coalition to be in distract-the-followers-nothing-to-see-here mode for the next week or so.

Religious obsession and sex

I've long been convinced that there is some kind of link between obsession with rigid religious dogmas and secret sex abuses and obsessions. We hear only about those abusers who have made a name for themselves or are in some way socially or culturally prominent. God only knows how many others have gotten away with it. Like the child molester who manages to find work which places him near his potential victims, those who have secret drives and compulsions and harbor sexual guilt often find a home in a religion that prohibits sinful behavior but also provides a cover for such illicit activities. Heads of religious groups are in positions allowing for domination and control of their followers. Today we know something about sexual exploitation and the need to control. Also, as the Good Book tells us, forbidden fruit is always so very, very tantalizing.

Is there nothing sacred to these fundamentalist copulating Christians, aka f***king Jesus freaks? Now the copulating Christians are stealing the Papist sacrament of child abuse. They don't have the grace to marry the kids as those who have broken from &/or kicked out of the LDS, aka Mormons, do.

The gorgeous and sexy gay man smiles at Jerry Falwell (on Larry King perhaps?) and says:

"Darling, Reverend, we honestly appreciate that you Christianists at least allow us to do "what we do" in the privacy of our homes. Likewise in the spirit of of turn-about is fair play, no pun intended, we are just tickled to have you do "what you do" in the sanctity of your churches.

As long as there has been a church there are people who have sought to exploit it. People like this obviously do not believe the teachings of Jesus despite their playing church.

Jesus admonished his followers regarding harming children. There is no doubt about Jesus' position on the abuse of children. This guy is just another user.

Religion and sexuality.

When I look down at the dogma propagated by many churches, I can't help but picture a bunch of repressed dirty old men coming up with it. My wife and I agree on this point; it just seems like a bunch of people who weren't getting any sat down and decided nobody else should either.

The result of the repression of sexuality can lead to some unfortunate consequences. I don't know if it's because of that, or because some people are just going to abuse power no matter what, that we hear about so many child molesters who are somehow involved with religion.

As a pretty spiritual person, I don't really think God could care less about how often my wife and I get it on, or for what purpose, or how. It's just not relevant to much at all. Given that opinion and the agreement of my wife, there's really not much repression going on here.

Having a normal, healthy sex life makes people less likely to do something really offensive. I hope.

This really does prove what I have been saying for years, Religion is an enforced belief in an unseen entity for the purpose of controlling everything you think and do so as to fulfill the needs of a chosen few. These few horrid little men
who could not attain power in any way other than hiding behind the veil of propriety that religion enjoys. Without the threat of Hell they could never achieve their small-eyes heaven so I say in the interest of protecting children we should make religion adults-only. All religions should be barred from enticing children with youth groups and VBS and
it should be made illegal to take any child to any religion based gathering. No more forcing kids to go to church or forcing them to practice any religion whatsoever. Only this way can we prevent these god-fearing child rapers away from their favorite food.
