DeLay supporters get violent (video)

But DeLay, ahem, knew nothing about it

In this [VIDEO] you can see a man with a Tom DeLay shirt pushing an older woman in the face at an event for Nick Lampson, the Democratic candidate to fill DeLay's imminently vacant seat in the House.

Did he just decide to come out and rough up old ladies? Not exactly. I mean, he probably wasn't sitting around doing a yoga video, but it certainly doesn't foster an atmosphere of collegial debate when you receive a mass e-mail from Tom DeLay's campaign manager that reads: "Let's give Lampson a parting shot that wrecks his press conference."

And then this, which is the silliest thing I've heard in weeks:

"[DeLay Campaign Manager Chris] Homan said he organized the protest through phone calls and e-mails, but DeLay didn't know about it."

Yes, those dastardly campaign managers are always sneaking around and organizing protests.

Still, are they contrite? Not so much: "Homan said today's protest was a sign of things to come." Wow, future sneaking around. Hope DeLay doesn't read the papers or he's liable to find out about the next one in advance!
