Wal-Mart: Too Christian for Christianity

Sad. Just sadly amazing. Laura had a gift certificate she couldn't use elsewhere so she sucked it up and went to Wal-Mart to purchase her green, yellow and purple ribbon: "I try to avoid Wal Mart at all costs but I had a gift card so I thought I’d use it today."
WM Ass.: We don’t carry those colors because we found they were being used for Mardi Gras.
Me: That’s what I wanted it for. I’m making a chair for this great orginization.
WM Ass.: Do you know what Mardi Gras is about?!
Me: Yes, it’s a last hurrah before Lent.
WM Ass.: Mardi Gras is about sex and debauchery! Women get raped in New Orleans! The organization, by the way, is a nonprofit that "provides musical instruction to underpriveledged kids in the Kansas City area." Sounds pretty Christian to me. But the manager of this Wal-Mart, heeding the cries of tormented women everywhere, will have nothing whatever to do with that evil temptress know as ribbon:
WM Mgr.: We feel that as a Christian Company it was inappropriate to carry things associated with morally corrupt themes.
Me: (Very loudly) Mardi Gras is a Christian party! It’s a last hurrah before Lent.
WM Mgr.: Ma’am, I’m going to have to ask you to leave until you can be calm.
