Are blogs the newest old boys network? 'In These Times' reporter Lakshmi Chaudhry and Bob Fertik of Democrats.com. Don Allen of Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC, and Christine Kelly of Sundance Bookstore in Reno, Nevada, suggest some Valentine's Day books. Penny Venetis of Rutgers University Law School, who is successfully challenging paperless voting machines, and Bob Fitrakis, editor-publisher of FreePress.org, on the latest news from Ohio. Then Rodney Cowell, whose 'The Outsider' might have been Nashville's most political CD in 2005.

Thank you very much, Laura, for the link to your show, which was very good indeed. I listened to the whole Feb. 15 show, encompassing a broad spectrum of news, culture (great!) and politics; very interesting, especially the news and politics part, as I live in Europe and only have CNN, which, I don't need to tell you, doesn't nearly do enough to give me the idea [no, Bush nor they can fool me] that I get sufficiently independently informed about the more controversial issues, though they do their best I'm sure, within their corporate limitations. I loved Rodney Cowell's contribution; he is as raw and profound as Bob Dylan, but with his very own, very distinctive style. Thanks again, Laura.
