Gore calls Bush 'lawbreaker' (video/podcast)

Woody Allen jokes aside (Q: do you think Democracy can work? A: Yes... but I think the American way can work too.), the Constitution is under attack and Gore makes an eloquent (if frightening) case. Referring to the once arcane -- now merely obscure -- unitary executive theory, eagerly supported by impending Supreme Court justice Sammy Alito:
"This legal theory, which its proponents call the theory of the unitary executive but which is more accurately described as the unilateral executive, threatens to expand the president's powers until the contours of the constitution that the Framers actually gave us become obliterated beyond all recognition...
"This effort to rework America's carefully balanced constitutional design into a lopsided structure dominated by an all powerful Executive Branch with a subservient Congress and judiciary is-ironically-accompanied by an effort by the same administration to rework America's foreign policy from one that is based primarily on U.S. moral authority into one that is based on a misguided and self-defeating effort to establish dominance in the world."Gore touches on the spying scandal, intimidation of opponents, the right to dissent, and nearly every other abuse of power by Bush over the past 5 years, ending with an MLK quote:
"Perhaps a new spirit is rising among us. If it is, let us trace its movements and pray that our own inner being may be sensitive to its guidance, for we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness that seems so close around us." (Newshounds, Irregular Times, HuffPost)

Dear: Add name
As one of your long time supporters, I am writing to request you to co-sponsor Congressman John Conyers's resolution calling for a full inquiry into the serious abuses of power that may constitute grounds for the impeachment of President Bush and the removal of Vice President Cheney.
President Bush and other high officials of his administration have lied to the people of the United States regarding the basis and necessity for war. He has sent the sons and daughters of the United States to war on false pretenses resulting in the death and maiming of thousands of U.S. service people and more than a hundred thousand Iraqis. He has violated his oath of office to uphold the Constitution. He has failed in his responsibilities to the people of the United States engaging criminal neglect in the handling of Hurricane Katrina.
President Bush recently acknowledged that he repeatedly authorized wiretaps, without obtaining a warrant, of American citizens engaged in international calls. On the face of it, these warrantless wiretaps violate FISA, which requires court approval for national security wiretaps and sets up a special procedure for obtaining it. Violation of the law is a felony.
A President, any President, who maintains that he is above the law--and repeatedly violates the law--thereby commits high crimes and misdemeanors, the constitutional standard for impeachment and removal from office. A high crime or misdemeanor is an archaic term that means a serious abuse of power, whether or not it is also a crime, that endangers our constitutional system of government.
Thank you for your considering this request. I look forward to your response.
Sinerely .

What amazes me is the proffered concept of the thory of the "Unilateral Executive"...as it is suggested to be applied in connection with a clueless, sniggering, condescending, congenital idiot like G. "Dumya" Shrub !

Like budding in Springtime, you show signs of a testicular return, sir.
One tiny detail left - Every single action you take from now on. We now await proof-in-action that you meant what you said on Martin Luther King Day.
We've got a little pride left, and we'll share it with you if you help us out.
