Media myth: Dubya's likeability

Don't be fooled by PR, Americans don't like him and the proof is in the latest stats.

Clinton has lapped Dubya. Disturbing as that may sound, what it actually means is that, at this point in his presidency, Clinton was twice as popular as Bush. You read that right. Bush just hit 36% approval whereas Clinton's was 72%, notes Cenk Uygur.

Noting that these are "pre-coup numbers" and that they're slightly lower than Nixon during his impeachment hearings, Uygur comments:

"To say 'people like Bush' under these circumstances is to be so inaccurate that I have to question either your intelligence or your motives. How much cognitive reasoning ability do you need to figure out that 36% approval rating means people DON’T like George Bush? Do you owe the guy money or something?"
