Terry McAuliffe's Political Funeral Video

We all knew it was strange that McAuliffe should run for governor. This video captures the essence of his hollow existence.

Via Jerome Armstrong from MyDD I saw this eerie video to the right. From Tuesday's Virginia Democratic primary for governor, in which Clinton money guy Terry McAuliffe got the drubbing he deserved. It's a disturbing video -- who would be so stupid as to plant thousands of signs on a country road like that? What a colossal waste. But then -- we step back and look at the spectacle -- and it looks like what artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude might have come up with if they were given the task of sharing the essence of Terry McAuliffe; infinite two-dimensional Terry flowers blooming on the roadside.

I'm glad the good Democrats in Virginia sent that DLCer a very loud message.

Hasta la vista, Terry!

That was a sad video and the song wasn't any better. Something a little more subtle might be in order.

I live in Virginia, and volunteered for the Obama campaign. A lot of the first-time campaign volunteers I talked to had a similar opinion of McAuliffe - that he was among those most responsible for the Democratic party losing its touch with the average American, and be damned if he would get a free ride to the governor's mansion.

A lot of the old-school Democratic loyalist types got offended by that - really, really offended.

Too bad - just goes to show that the political kingmakers have no more idea what's in the mind of the voters than a stage mentalist.

Is it possible?

Is it even possible that McAuliffe or his campaign would sanction this? It really looks like guerilla warfare from the other side. I'm not accusing, just asking.

After he ran Hillary's campaign like the Baghdad Bob of political consultants (Hillary can still win this!), McAuliffe seems to have drunk his own KoolAid and gone back for seconds.

What a blight on the landscape. One or two signs along that stretch is to be expected but that was overkill.

I hope the makers of that video let us know how long it takes his supporters to remove those! They're just plain litter now and I hope somebody steps up to take responsibility to get 'em down.

I don't get it. This has little to do with McAuliffe. There were other campaigns' signs there too -- "McDonnell" was notably prominent -- and this video was apparently made by supports of the Republican in the race. It's not indicative of anything.

It appears it's the only thing he's good at these days. Way to get my home state back in the GOP column, ***hole!

I didn't vote for the carpetbagger, but that video looks like it's from the Shad Planking, which is actually a Virginia tradition, part of which includes an unofficial contest to put up the most signs during the event...note the signs from other candidates along the way too. Ironically, he took part in the sign competition featured above as a way to endear himself to Virginia voters.

Hilary Clintons camp

Hilary Clintons camp is blaming Senator Barack Obamas team for fanning the fire over her RKF assassination gaffe.

Clintons campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe put the blame on Obamas supporters hosting when he appeared on Fox News Sunday, saying that they had tried to take the out of context, dedicated hosting reports the New York Daily News.

“It’s unfortunate - a hyped-up press over Memorial Day weekend, the Obama campaign inflaming it, tried to take web design these words out of context,” he said.

Clinton was explaining why she was still in the race against Sen. Barack Obama when she said: “My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June. Right?”
