Dick Cheney's statement to Greta van Susteren that "On the question of whether or not Iraq was involved in 9/11, there was never any evidence to prove that" is being widely portrayed as an admission.

But it's less an admission than a PR move. Cheney has spent the better part of the last seven years doing everything in his power to convince the American people of the very connection he now says there was "never any evidence" of.

In 2004, even after the 9/11 commission found "no credible evidence" of Iraqi involvement in 9/11, Cheney was still claiming the evidence that al Qaeda had a relationship with Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq was "overwhelming."

When he was asked in '04 if Iraq was involved in 9/11, he said, "We don't know." Three years after the attack -- and he still didn't know? Even after they had tried every trick in the black book -- including torture -- to find a link?

And while Cheney's gotten more careful with his words over the years, he's never really stopped insinuating that there was a connection between 9/11 and the war in Iraq.

Indeed, as recently as two weeks ago in his big speech at the America Enterprise Institute, Cheney was still banging the drum about Saddam's "known ties to Mideast terrorists" as part of his rationale for invading Iraq and using torture.

Cheney's ongoing Forget Everything I Ever Told You Tour is historical revisionism at its most despicable.

And we are clearly watching a master manipulator at work. I've always felt that his best -- and by that I mean worst -- work was going on "Meet the Press" in 2002 to tell us about those ominous aluminum tubes and the "number of contacts over the years" between Al Qaeda and Iraq... or his repeated designed-to-terrify-voters warnings about nuclear attacks on US soil. But this ranks right up there.

In his interview with van Susteren, Cheney also backed away from his claim that the documents he wants the CIA to declassify would prove that torture was effective -- saying instead that they would offer a good summary of "what we learned" not just from waterboarding but the detainee interrogation program as a whole.

So, he gets all the media value and spin by originally making the claim that the intel documents would prove the value of torture -- if only Obama would let the truth come out. Then he backs away from the claim, using weasel-words to give him sufficient wiggle room to say that what he really meant was that the overall interrogation program provided useful information -- not that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation techniques did.

Perhaps it suddenly dawned on the former VP that he doesn't have the power to keep those documents classified any more -- and that he could be proven to be a liar (yet again) with the stroke of President Obama's pen. Hence the verbal tap-dancing.

But eventually the pile of lies may get so high that it will tumble down on him. For instance, it's not a very smart idea to go around saying that Richard Clarke missed the warning signs on bin Laden and 9/11 when there is email after email after email from the spring and summer of 2001 showing that it was actually Cheney and Bush who ignored the warning signs on bin Laden.

You know what they say about people living in glass houses? Well, people with a paper trail that proves they ignored the looming threat of al-Qaeda, sanctioned torture, and used lies and manipulated intelligence to get us into a war, shouldn't be so fast to throw stones either.

Lord of Death..also referred to as the "Spider"..which I think is more appropriate.
This man is as sociopathic as they come.
But I think the worser aspect is that people actually still give credence to his lies.
This man would murder his own grandmother if there was profit in it.

Oh please...we know all about Evil Dick and 911..Senior PFGETTY and GUITAR BILL ..please..lets move on to something..substantive..
Like how about this mans history since the Watergate scandal and the Nixon administration ..etc and all the internecine things he did before he became Darth Vader.
So now we need a Luke Skywalker..that has the cojones to charge this man and put him in a white rubber room with computer games where he always belonged, dangerous people like this do not belong in public office.
After all up until 2000 the Neocons were considered the "crazies"........as usual we always underestimate evil..its never "out there" but always lurks in our back yard .
Foreign and DOMESTIC.. and is to defend the Constitution.... that is the Oath of Office..
Dick solemnly forgot the Constitution part...we are still waiting.....someone..Obama??

May 2001 - Bush puts Cheney in charge of civilian and military exercises

Bush creates Office of National Preparedness within FEMA, assigns Cheney to run it.

May 8, 2001: Cheney to Oversee National Effort for Responding to Domestic Attacks, But No Action Is Taken Before 9/11

President Bush entrusts Vice President Cheney to “oversee the development of a coordinated national effort,” to address the threat posed to the United States by chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Bush states that he has also asked Joe Allbaugh, the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to create an Office of National Preparedness. This office is supposed to implement “the results of those parts of the national effort overseen by Vice President Cheney that deal with consequence management,” and it “will work closely with state and local governments to ensure their planning, training, and equipment needs are addressed.” Bush says he “will periodically chair a meeting of the National Security Council to review these efforts.” Cheney informs CNN, “[O]ne of our biggest threats as a nation” could be “domestic terrorism, but it may also be a terrorist organization overseas or even another state using weapons of mass destruction against the US.… [W]e need to look at this whole area, oftentimes referred to as homeland defense.” He makes no mention of either bin Laden or al-Qaeda. [CNN, 5/8/2001; White House, 5/8/2001; New York Times, 7/8/2002] Cheney is meant to head a group that will draft a national terrorism response plan by October 1. [Chicago Sun-Times, 5/5/2001; Insight on the News, 6/18/2001] But, as Barton Gellman later comments in the Washington Post, “Neither Cheney’s review nor Bush’s took place.” [Washington Post, 1/20/2002] Former Senator Gary Hart (D) later implies that the president assigned this specific role to Cheney in order to prevent Congress from enacting counterterrorism legislation proposed by a bipartisan commission he had co-chaired in January (see January 31, 2001). [Salon, 4/2/2004; Salon, 4/6/2004] In July, two senators will send draft counterterrorism legislation to Cheney’s office, but a day before 9/11, they are told it might be another six months before he gets to it (see September 10, 2001). [Newsweek, 5/27/2002] Cheney’s “National Preparedness Review” is just beginning to hire staff a few days before 9/11 (see September 10, 2001). [Congressional Quarterly, 4/15/2004]

Mr. Cheney needs to testify under oath about the military and civilian exercises he was supervising on 9/11/01.

If you analyze the government's story closely, you will find that not one element of their conspiracy theory is credibly supported by the facts.

We need a new investigation into the events of 9/11/01.

Physics, facts and logic prove that the government's conspiracy theory of 9/11 cannot be true.

The truth shall set us free.  Love is the only way forward.

Mr. Cheney needs to testify under oath about the orders he gave in the PEOC on 9/11/01

Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta on 23 May 2003 appeared in the public hearings of the Congressional 9/11 Commission. He was questioned regarding the events in the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) underneath the East Wing of the White House. He recited hearing the following:

There was a young man who had come in and said to the vice president, “The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out.” And when it got down to, “The plane is 10 miles out, “the young man also said to the vice president, “Do the orders still stand?” And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, “Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?

Watch it on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlM8Sui6-X0

Why did the 9/11 Commission leave out Norman Mineta's testimony and change the time line so that they claim that Mr. Cheney didn't enter the PEOC until almost 10am, when multiple witnesses place him there well before the Pentagon was "attacked"?

Mr. Cheney needs to testify about his actions/inactions on 9/11/01.

If you analyze the government's story closely, you will find that not one element of their conspiracy theory is credibly supported by the facts.

We need a new investigation into the events of 9/11/01.

The lies will come tumbling down when Alternet begins telling the truth about 911
Posted by: pfgetty on Jun 8, 2009 2:54 AM
Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
It ALL goes back to 911. ALL of it.
The lies, the wars, the torture, the wiretapping.
It is all based on the ridiculous story that 19 Islamic extremists, part of a worldwide conspiracy, attacked us on 911.........that they evaded the most sophisticated air defense the world has ever known.

The story is so absurd that once you are told that there is no evidence for any of it, and it all becomes clear, you can't believe that you ever were so naive and gullible to believe it.

I believed it. Thank goodness for a guy named Ed on a professional website that kept up the telling of the truth for years, over and over again. I finally got it. How in the world was I ever so stupid?

And now I want the world to realize the truth. But the press, Alternet included, have censored the very obvious truth. The evidence is glaring.
But when ALL of the press keeps the facts from the people, the people will believe anything, ANYTHING.
There are powerful interests that would be deeply hurt if the truth would come out. These interests have a stake in the press..........ownership, foundational support, etc. The people of these interests are at the heart of corporate and banking interests.
But all that doesn't matter to the truth..........all one has to do is to take a little extra time and work and find out for themselves. Alternet won't do it...........their foundational supporters won't let them.
But you can find the truth at websites like www.911truth.org, www.ae911truth.org, www.patriotsquestion911.com, and follow the links and stories from there.

911 was an inside job. The War on Terror is a fraud. WMD and "links" is all just a part of the fairytale.
Cheney was part of the planning and execution and coverup of it all.
We need a new investigation.
Our msm and alternative media will not do the work for you.
We all have to do it for ourselves.
Go learn and study.
You will see for yourself.

I don't think there is a more patriotic thing any of us can do for our country than to find out the truth about that day.

Mr. Cheney needs to testify under oath about why he and his staff started taking Cipro on 9/11/01

White House staff begins taking Cipro on 9/11/01

Evening, September 11, 2001: White House Staff, Including Cheney’s, Start Taking Anthrax Antibiotic Cipro

On the evening after the 9/11 attacks, some White House personnel, including Vice President Dick Cheney’s staff, are given the anti-anthrax drug Cipro, and told to take it regularly. [Associated Press, 10/24/2001] An unnamed “high government official” also advises some reporters to take Cipro shortly after 9/11 (see Shortly After September 11, 2001). Judicial Watch will later sue the Bush administration to release documents showing who knew what and when, and why presidential staff were protected while senators, congresspeople, and others were not. [Associated Press, 6/9/2002]

Shortly After September 11, 2001: High Government Official Advises Some Reporters to Take Anthrax Antibiotic Cipro

Washington Post journalist Richard Cohen will later write: “The [2001 anthrax] attacks were not entirely unexpected. I had been told soon after Sept. 11 to secure Cipro, the antidote to anthrax. The tip had come in a roundabout way from a high government official, and I immediately acted on it. I was carrying Cipro way before most people had ever heard of it.” [Slate, 3/18/2008] He will explain on a different occasion, “On a tip, I asked my doctor early on to prescribe Cipro for me, only to find out that, insider though I thought I was, nearly everyone had been asking him for the same thing.” [Washington Post, 7/22/2004] A number of White House officials begin taking Cipro the evening of September 11, 2001 (see Evening, September 11, 2001). Also, on September 26, well before any reports of real anthrax attacks, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd will write, “Americans are now confronted with the specter of terrorists in crop dusters and hazardous-waste trucks spreading really terrifying, deadly toxins like plague, smallpox, blister agents, nerve gas and botulism. Women I know in New York and Washington… share information on which pharmacies still have Cipro, Zithromax and Doxycycline, all antibiotics that can be used for anthrax, the way they once traded tips on designer shoe bargains.” [New York Times, 9/26/2001]

This may be why he's still beloved. Neither Obama nor most Democrats in Congress are doing anything to change the broken system. If they hadn't been busy maintaining the status quo like they have been doing so far, Cheney wouldn't be here. The Democratic Party is stuck with corrupt leaders such as Obama, Pelosi, and Reid who refused to prosecute the Bush gang and still do. The author can complain about Cheney all she wants to but until the Democratic Party seriously repairs its wimpy leadership, the Bush gang of thugs such as Rove and Cheney are here to stay along with their media to prop their butts up.

Richard "Dick" Cheney, a man who surely was born for the nickname, has been protected from up on high in the corridors of Henry Kissinger, George "Poppy" Bush and David Rockefeller for decades now. Look at his history both in the public and private sector, and you will find a person completely dominated by covert agendas. Whether he was sitting as a congressman in the Iran-Contra hearings and apparently not having a problem with the activities of Richard Sekord and Oliver North (and it certainly has been demonstrated then Vice President Bush) or appaluding the accounting practices of Arthur Anderson during his Halliburton/KBR stint, he protected and lied for the military industrial complex and various corrupt banking syndicates.

Why do you think he and Rumsfeld got along so great back in the 70's "Team B" days, when they were finding new ways on a daily basis to derail detente? Lies about Soviet capabilities were presented in exactly the same manner as the Iraq 9/11 and WMD lies...
Why do you think he has been so closely conected with the Continuity of Government plans since Bush Snr. was vice-president and literally running a shadow executive branch from Washington DC to Mena, Arkansas to Pine Gap, Australia? Seriously, investigative reporting has revealed that Cheney would sometimes be missing for days, without anyone in DC knowing where he was, leading to specualtion that he was shacked up with Brent Snowcroft at Mount Weather making sure congress would not be re-constituted after a catastrophic event or war in the still-secret COG plans. He is a career Rockefeller stooge at the CFR as far as I can tell.

So without writing a large summary of covert operations going back to the days of JFK, Johnson and Nixon, I dare say that only the misinformed and media hores pays any attention to Cheney's increasingly desperate claims about his vice-presidential years be that 9/11, Iraq, the banking collapees, S&L scandals of the 80s, Iran Contra, Brown & Root implication in quite a few criminal enterprisesgoing back to the seconnf world war or the completely absurd "missing nukes" event (remember Arianna, a freakin' Air Force bomber flew nuclear weapons across the country without proper clearance -- something that simply is not possible without covert manipulation of codes and key personnel) that still has not been resolved by mainstream media.

So pretty please, with sugar in top...get with the program -- you're too bright for this kind of superficial reasoning when it comes to a sociopath like Dick Cheney.

Posting angry emails on progressive web sites isnt going to cut it either.
You dont need a team of make up artists or a 100 million dollar special effects budget to get out on the streets and protest.
No other country in the developed world would let a criminal like Cheney get away the crap hes gotten away with.
Its embarrasing to watch.

The Authoritarin personality...

...will lend credence to any authority figure acting in any official or semi-official capacity (which includes speeches and media interviews). They will give respect to the office of the President or VP (even if it is an emeritus status) despite the illegal or immoral actions of the office holder. They cannot separate the office from the man. To question the actions or motives of Bush or Cheney is to "hate America".

These authoritarian type personalities put their trust in the "alpha male". They cannot fathom that the "alpha" would not act in the best interest of the nation. It is an act born of fear and respect. And shameless leaders exploit this fear for self-preservation. "Ooga-Booga" scaring of the sheep has always been a staple of the politicians.

The media are active partners in this whole charade. Just remember how many times they showed the plane hitting the South Tower over and over again! Trauma and fear will keep the eyeballs glued to the TV set -- all for the benefit of the advertisers. The MSM will also repeat any bilge that spews forth from these reptiles. All in the interest of "fairness and balance" to be sure! ("Is it true that you've stopped beating your wife, Senator?")

The Republicans perfected "perception management". The rest of the pack is catching up fast. Without a healthy, functioning free press, we are totally screwed, and Darth Cheney knows it. He's exploiting it to the nth degree.

The Bush Presidency should be known as the disappearing presidency. When the twin towers were hit Bush DISAPPEARED. The Iraq nuclear missiles DISAPPEARED. The CIA tapes of interrigation DISAPPEARED. Bush was nowhere to be found when 'shotgun Dick' disclosed that Valerie Plame was a (covert) CIA agent which was classified information. When our embassy in Serbia burned Bush DISAPPEARED. Bush's Robber Baron presidency has made our money DISAPPEAR. With Voodoo Economics Georgie has made most of our jobs DISAPPEAR. But what would happen if Bush really disappeared? Can you imagine 'Deadeye Dick' with his finger on the nuclear trigger? If that were to happen everyone might just DISAPPEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did manage to APPEAR just long enough to lobby for CORPORATE WELFARE for the international banks. Goodbye Goofball Georgie, have fun in Texass.

He'll go on and on for as long as he pleases. He gets plenty of air time and press coverage, including Alternet. What whould make him want to stop? Daughter Liz is ready to take up the cause. What's the mystery here??? ANNA

"When Will Dick Cheney's Tower of Lies Come Tumbling Down?"....
....I suspect this will occur at about 7 seconds into his first waterboarding session.

Now that the Bush-Cheney Thugs are out of power, they can no longer
use "War on Terror", "National Security" or even "Global Economy" to
cover-up their graft and corruption. Nobody is Above the Law... Follow
the Evidence... Follow the MONEY... Prosecute the Criminals!

When will Dick Cheney's Tower of Lies Come Tumbling Down?

When the main stream media starts to reveal this man and his actions for what they really are, and that is not likely to happen. 95 percent of media outlets in this country are concentrated in the hands of five media giants, all who donated heavily to both Bush/Cheney campaigns. This is the same consolidated media power that kept Kucinich out of the debates at a crucial moment in 2008, simply using the excuse of "editorial decision in private media", in spite of the fact that Kucinich qualified for inclusion in every way.

I almost believe that the media is trotting Cheney around just to show the public what an unimpeachable house of lies looks like, lest anyone with influence decide to go out on a limb and challenge him.

Why the Warnings Were 'Ignored'

Everything changed on 9/11.

Even the laws of physics. Structural steel that Underwriters Laboratory had certified to withstand 2000ºF for several hours now melts instantaneously at 1300º, the combustion point of jet fuel.

Really?

If it had been an inside job, of course Cheney and Bush would've 'ignored' the warnings.

I read this article, then moved on to other reading today.

Cheney no doubt has an ad agency behind him if he is getting all these TV appearances, and getting his writing published in major newspapers.

So does Newt Gingrich, who is considering running for president in 2012. He's been in the media a great deal lately too.

Cheney might be parading in public because daughter Liz wants to run.

In any case, it is not a curious media running after these people. It's these people courting the media.

The question Ariana asks suggests the answer. "Will the tower of cheney's lies come tumbling down?" It already has, but most Americans are too dim-witted to see it. This is why the bush crime family was able to screw over us for eight nightmarish years with such ease.

A vicious liar and warmonger, named Dick Cheney

Bravo, Arianna! Dick Cheney lied time and again to the American public, and helped to plan and carry out a campaign of lies by numerous others, to set up elective wars that have cost trillions of dollars and only made the security situation worse. Cheney is a continuing threat to US national security.

argue about who did what until it fades into obscurity, then some controlling, manipulative member of our society does something similar, (or worse), while the people sleep, and we'll do it ALL OVER AGAIN! If we wait for incontrovertible evidence it may be to late. Indict Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and any associates, I'd be willing to let my tax dollars be spent seeking truth and justice. Especially from these players.

when the 9/11 Truth Movement can get some time from Murdoch's Fox News to let everyone know 9/11 was an inside job directed by Cheney from the White House bunker while Bush was reading My Pet Goat.

Anyone lacking the morals to the point where he will authorize torture will certainly have no compunction lying about it.

We need to crush his credibility with his followers by investigating his crimes and conducting appropriate prosecutions according to their outcome.

... with the Devil, Cheney will never be held responsible for his actions while he still walks this world. Cheney held up his end of the bargain, delivering thousands of souls to the waiting maw of Hell, and spreading far and wide the pain and suffering upon which the demons feed eagerly. For this service, Cheney receives earthly immunity, the worship of the Dark-Souled Hordes, and all the torture videos he cares to watch. Cheney has deluded himself that his defibrillator will keep him out of Satan's clutches forever - but Satan *always* collects.

Never Trust a Bilderberger

Unfortunately, those are about the only choices we get.

Must read this: The True Story of the Bilderberg Group by Daniel Estulin.

Dear Tricky Dick the Second is using the same tactic the Group worked on Tricky Dick the First to such lasting effect. Sowing confusion and instability is basic to their playbook -- allows them all to amass further riches thanks to garrisoning and war, while everyone trying to read the signals or the behind-the-scenes moves just gets confused and torpid.

Puts a weird twist on the irony that since 2001 Cheney's only been trying to restore the imperial perks of the presidency supposedly stripped from Nixon and those who came after in the '70s.
