Sarah Palin Is Getting Pretty Graphic

No, not in a swearing way, or a violent way, or a sexy way. There's a new graphic biography of the Alaskan governor and it is flying off the shelves.

Sarah Palin is getting pretty graphic lately. No, not in a swearing way, or a violent way, or even a sexy way ... but in a graphic biography way. The new book, titled "Female Force: Sarah Palin," was released a few days ago and already has some fans. Publisher Darren G Davis told the Guardian "We had no clue how well these books would be received in the marketplace."

Sarah Palin, it turns out, remains extremely popular in the US -- at least among readers of comics. A graphic biography of the Alaskan governor was released in the US yesterday and has been flying off the shelves, with its publisher already rushing back to press for a second printing.

Telling Palin's life story -- from PTA president to her surprise nomination as John McCain's running mate, to the pair's failed bid for the White House -- the 32-page comic is an "even-handed perspective" of Palin's accomplishments, according to its publisher Bluewater Productions.

Now, I'd argue that the Alaskan governor is not "extremely popular" with comic book readers, but that folks are buying these as a) collector's items or b) gag gifts. But maybe I'm wrong. "Female Force" will be an ongoing project, Bluewater also released a graphic biography of Hillary Clinton and has plans to publish one for Michelle Obama.

Unfortunately, as stated above, these books remain pretty accurate to their source material. Which I find disappointing only because when I first saw that Palin had her own comic book coming out I was hoping for an extreme governor versus cyber-moose battle for Anchorage. Or at least a scenario where she had to fight a mutant wolf using only a helicopter and her .22.

Click through to the flip to see the cover of Palin's graphic biography (which, again, contains no fights with robots that turn into snowmobiles):
