Even FOX Panned Jindal’s Zombie-Like Response to Obama’s Speech

How to tell when your political party is in trouble.

It would have been hard for anyone to follow President Obama’s electrifying speech last night that left an anxious, vulnerable nation filled with hope.  That said, Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal looked particularly zombie-like during the his response.  Andrew Sullivan joked Jindal was doing his best impression of Kenneth the Page from 30 Rock.  Personally, I find Kenneth to be far more entertaining and honest, considering Jindal’s lie about the “levitating train” and his disingenuous talk about Hurricane Katrina.  (Maybe that’s why Olbermann or Matthews let out an audible “Oh God!” when Jindal first appeared.)  But Sullivan wasn’t the only one who thought Jindal bombed.

Jindal’s speech was so lame even FOX News tore him apart.  Brit Hume said, “This was not Bobby Jindal’s greatest oratorical moment.”  Nina Easton assessed, “The delivery was not exactly terrific.”  And Juan Williams concluded Jindal’s speech “came off as amateurish, and even the tempo in which he spoke was sing-songy. He was telling stories that seemed very simplistic and almost childish.”  You know your party’s in trouble when your “rising star” is spinning folksy bullshit that even FOX won’t buy.
