President Obama must act upon his campaign slogan and the promise of Change We Can Believe In. Starting with appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the potential crimes of the Bush administration. Immediately rescind the executive decrees and signing statements of George W. Bush, thereby reestablishing the beginnings of a renewed respect for the law and the Constitution. On day one, President Obama should submit a bill that amends the No Child Left Behind fiasco, to insure our teachers receive the raise in pay they surely deserve, while opening up our education system to real reform. In the first 100 days, President Obama should read the list of promises made to his electorate during the campaign and begin acting on each, or at least begin a weekly report to the public including any reason for putting a promise on the back burner, if he has decided to do so. Transparency is an important element of Change, and it must start immediately. Obama must install the oversight of the financial bailout promised when the 700 billion was approved by the congress.
