Virginia Rep. Depicts Opponent as Scary, Dark, Bearded

Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) is out with a new ad that depicts his opponent, Tom Perriello, with a swarthy complexion, using a shadowy, grainy image of Perriello with a beard. As Open Left notes, the ad hints that Perriello’s “ skin is dark, he’s bearded, and he’s a liberal who loves amnesty for illegals and gay marriage.” Watch the ad, below which is a picture of Perriello:

Goode sparked controversy in 2006 with his anti-Muslim rhetoric.
