The talks come amid a diplomatic drive to head off a Palestinian bid to apply for the state of Palestine to be admitted as a full member of the United Nations.
Abbas was first to meet with US President Barack Obama, who earlier Wednesday held talks with Netanayahu.
But the extra talks with Clinton were added to the program amid the frantic efforts to ease the tensions at the United Nations over the Palestinians bid for UN membership as a state.
