Geo-engineering studies: Not a panacea, rather a darker picture of the global warming problem

Yesterday, in "Losing the 'war on terror' via the Pakistani Monsoon", I wrote about current news on the global warming front, and how its impacting the ongoing "war on terror," quoting from Democracy Now! among other sources.  Today, I want to start off looking back a month to another Democracy Now! program, which began with a segment with geopolitical analyst and columnist Gwynne Dyer talking about his new book, Climate Wars: The Fight for Survival as the World Overheats.  Dyer painted a very dire picture, arguing that goengineering was the only way to avoid catastrophe.  Then in a followup segment with Vadana Shiva, they debated whether this was a sensible approach.  Philosophically, I've always been deeply skeptical of geoengineering.
