Digby calls Joe Scarborough a conservative "apostate" for what he's just done.
Whatever he qualifies as politically, he has certainly created one of the more, er, interesting cultural statements ten yeas after 9/11: an anti-war song with echoes of bluegrass and country and the classic rock he loves to play on "Morning Joe," and a strong message about our overseas wars including this couplet: "In an endless war / Tell me please how many more have to die / Before my sweet boy comes home."
Listen to the song below. Is it a powerful statement for peace? Or jingoistic tribute from a narcissistic celebrity--with only a tinge of sadness? I'm too baffled to decide.
