Amid the words "Re-civilize yourself," Nivea's incredibly racist ad for men's facial shave gel shows a well-groomed, well-dressed black man discarding a mask. The mask, obviously alluding to the stereotype of "un-civilized" black men, is a bearded black face complete with a huge afro. It stands in stark contrast to the short-haired, light-skinned male in the ad, who is dressed like he belongs in a J. Crew ad.
