Mexican Citizen Executed in US: Watch Maddow and Bob Herbert Talk Death Penalty
After the Supreme Court refused to grant a stay of execution last night (with Justices Breyer, Kagan, Sotomayor and Ginsburg dissenting), Mexican citizen and convicted murder Humberto Leal Garcia, Jr., was executed by the State of Texas under Governor Rick Perry.
The legal issues at hand were whether Leal and other Mexican inmates had had their rights violated under international law and deserved another hearing.
