A nine-year-old boy has died in Miami of swine flu, state health authorities said Tuesday, raising the U.S. death toll from the A(H1N1) flu virus to 47.

Florida has reported 417 confirmed cases of A(H1N1) influenza.
In their latest update Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said there were confirmed 45 A(H1N1) deaths across the United States, as well as 17,855 confirmed flu cases.
But local health authorities on Monday reported the death in the northern state of Minnesota of a child infected with the flu.
The death in Florida, the first in the state, brought the toll to 47.
