Hillary Clinton in France for security talks
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Paris on Friday for talks on European security, after France rejoined NATO's military command last year.
She was to meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy before giving a speech on European security at the Ecole Militaire, a grand old military academy in central Paris.
"Doing it in Paris made sense because France rejoined fully NATO last year," Clinton told reporters on board her flight to Paris from London, where she had attended an international conference on Afghanistan.
Sarkozy's office said in a statement that his talks Friday with Clinton would cover Afghanistan, the Middle East, Iran and global warming. She is also to meet with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
