How desperate do you have to be to place your hope in John McCain for standing by his duped gay supporters?
The man has changed his position on everything from the Iraq war being won and done quickly, to Bush's tax cuts, to flattering Karl Rove a few days ago and welcoming his advice, to giving speeches at the "universities" of the people he called "agents of intolerance". Log Cabin Republicans are pulling for him to stand by them? Good luck with that! Just don't come looking to me for sympathy afterwards if you do!

As Xynyx so eloquently stated about the LCR : "Fuck them."
They weren't at Stonewall, and they'd pass McCain a book of matches if he agreed to throw black and brown gays and women on that bonfire.
Like many people, they benefited from the head-bashings that queens like Sylvia Rivera and Marsha Johnson got, compliments of NYPD.
Trust me; the night of the Stonewall riot the likes of the slithering worms who compose the LCR were drinking with GW Bush, the Criminal.
These Brownshirts bring nothing to the gay table.

"Slave to the Dark"
As has been pointed out elsewhere, the John McCain of 2000 would have probably kept his word. Not this year's model, no matter what happens.
While I applaud the LCR for not automatically siding with the Dems due to sexual orientation and for realizing that, as an independent third party, they would be squashed, I question the wisdom in their continuing to stand by the GOP. Since at least 1980, the Republicans have not been friendly to any considered outside the Moral Majority position. Yet, election after election, the LCR pin their hopes on these people to bring them justice (if anyone can cite an instance in which the LCR didn't, please let me know).
John McCain will simply be the latest misfire in a string of disappointments. He'll use them until they outlive their usefulness. Then they'll be shunted aside. To believe anything else is to smoke from the same crack pipe as the people who think that Iraq was a good idea.

I have a better question:
Why have the Democrats in the US Congress turned their back on gay Americans?
Please list all the gay accomplishments brought by Hillary, Obama, Nancy, Barney and the Democrat Congressional leadership in the past two years. Please be brief. (Looks like you have no choice except to be brief).
