Amy Goodman: The Palestinian death toll continues to mount on the eleventh day of Israel's attack on Gaza. The Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz reports 100 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks Monday, "a large number" of them civilians. At least twelve of the dead were children. At least two whole families were wiped out, one family of seven inside the Shati refugee camp and another family of eleven in the neighborhood of Zeitoun. Earlier today, at least ten Palestinian civilians were killed when an Israeli naval boat shelled their home on the Gaza shore. Witnesses say Israeli tanks have now entered a second major Palestinian city, Khan Yunis, in addition to Gaza City in the north.

Meanwhile, five Israeli soldiers were also killed Monday. The Israeli military says four of them died in two separate incidents when Israeli tank shells errantly hit the areas where they were operating. The mistaken killing of its own soldiers could serve to further bolster criticism of Israel's claim to be attacking Gaza with precise strikes on military targets.

Overall, an estimated 562 Palestinians have been killed with more than 2,500 wounded.

The Bush administration, meanwhile, continues to support Israel's attack. On Monday, the veteran correspondent Helen Thomas questioned White House Press Secretary Dana Perino.

Helen Thomas: Why is the President letting more people be killed in this situation, instead of going for a ceasefire and calling for restraint, as they have in the past, on both sides?
Dana Perino: We are calling for a durable ceasefire. That's what we are trying to establish.
Helen Thomas: But why don't you call it today and stop people from being killed?
Dana Perino: Well, I think, Helen, strong views are held on this by all sides. We believe that Israel has a right to defend itself, and--
Helen Thomas: Do the Gazans have a right to defend themselves?
Dana Perino: I think that what the Gazans deserve is a chance to live in peace and security. What President Bush has worked for is a chance to establish a two-state solution, so that the Palestinians could have their own state, so that they could live in their own democracy. And that's what President Abbas, who is the President of all Palestinians, has been working towards.
Helen Thomas: The President did not recognize their election, which was fair and square under international law, as observers --
Dana Perino: Look, when -- the President did call for the -- did support the elections. And when the elections were held, I don't think that Hamas was elected because they said, "Vote for us, we'll take you to war" or "We'll hold you hostage" or "We'll send rockets into Israel every day." But they won because they were tired -- the people of -- the Palestinians, people of Gaza, were frustrated with the services that they were getting from the Fatah party, which was a wake-up call for the Fatah party as well. And they have worked to try to improve what they could provide governance-wise for all of the Palestinians.
Helen Thomas: So knowing that, why did the US cut off all relation -- all aid to the people?
Dana Perino: We certainly have not done that to the people of Gaza. We do not deal with the terrorist organizations, of which Hamas is designated as one.

AG: The UN says around a quarter of the dead are civilians, but that figure only counts women and children, excluding adult males. Today, we'll look at one of those men. I'm joined by Fares Akram. He's the Gaza correspondent for The Independent of London. His father was killed in an Israeli F-16 attack on Saturday. His wife is nine months pregnant.

Fares Akram, welcome to Democracy Now!, and our condolences on the death of your father.

Fares Akram: Welcome, and thank you for your sympathy and support.

AG: Can you talk about what happened to your dad?

FA: I'm talking to you now, and I think you may hear the sound of the shooting going on from the Israeli tanks, which are only two kilometers away from our house.

it's biting their butt back. Then again, we the losers gave our taxdollars towards WMDs for Israel and now the country's drowning in more national debt thanks to that in addition to those phoney bailouts for Wall $treet and tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations. If Nader had been president for the last 8 years none of this would have happened. And I proudly voted for him a 3rd time even though it resulted in tilting MO to Mccain !

Israel is likely using cluster-bombs and white phosphorous in the densely populated areas of Gaza, a war-crime in my opinion.
(98% of cluster-bomb casualties, for instance, are of civilians, according to Handicap International.)
Also, Israel is targeting ambulances and shelters where civilians are known to be hiding out.
Israel is INTENTIONALLY targeting civilians, as we see now.
They are committing an evil genocide, committing a new Holocaust, a new Shoah.

Meanwhile, even the Democrats in the US Congress give 100% unconditional support to Israel's reign of terror.

The US is supporting a TERRORIST nation by giving unconditional support to Israel. That makes the US a terrorist nation too. Should we bomb ourselves and Israel now, like we bombed Afghanistan and Iraq for allegedly being terrorist nations, and likewise -- coming soon -- will probably bomb Syria and Iran?

Remember Hamas has been bombing Israel for years, now they are crying their eyes out for trying to bully a power more superior than their own. I hate this war, the casualties, but Hamas bears the blame for using their own children and women as shields then performing a media blitz blaming someone else for their irresponsible actions. The Palestinians should be rising up against the Hamas terrorists and stopping this violence. But no doubt they are brained wash by their own government as Americans have been under George Bush, or as the religious right has done to manipulate their followers. Some Americans want to control actions in other countries, which is really none of our business and yet they give a pass to the hypocrisy in this country.

U.S. politicians (and TV networks) are nearly unanimous...

..in their support of Israel, despite the fact that polls show the U.S. populace is fairly evenly divided. Wherever you stand on this issue, whether pro-Israeli or pro-Palestinian (i.e. pro justice), it is disheartening that our elected leadership is nearly 100% on the side of Israel; a good example of representative democracy at it's worst.

With Rahm Emanuel so close to Obama, don't expect Obama to be any less supportive of Israel. If you don't already know Emanuel's family history vis-a-vis Israel/Zionism, do some research. For example, his father was a member Irgun, a militant Zionist group, google it. Upon Rahm's appointment as chief of staff, (the single closest person to the President, VP included), his father had this to say: "Obviously, he will influence the President to be pro-Israel. Why shouldn't he do it? What is he, an Arab? He's not going to clean the floor of the White House."

If anything, the Obama administration could actually be worse than Bush/Clinton/Bush vis-a-vis Israel/Palestine. I hope I'm wrong (and I often am) but Emanuel's prominence in the Obama administration does not exactly send an encouraging signal to those of us on the side of fredom and justice.

This is the third time I've asked this question. I am asking specifically the anti-israeli people on here posting comments. I haven't recently checked those old posts but the last time I did there was not response so I assumed the israel bashers don't have an answer. It's easy to call names and curse and blame israel for everything that is going on but how about actually dicussing constructively.

Pur The Blame Where It Rightly Belongs - On Hamas

Hi Everyone

Apparently this journalist does not understand reality and cause and effect. In order order to understand what this struggle is all about, one must understand Hamas' goals, largely derived from its ideological paternity to the Egyptian Muslim Brothehood. As a Sunni extremist offshoot of the Brotherhood, Hamas' raison d'etre is Israel's destruction -- nothing less will do. Despite my instinctive belief that one should try to negotiate a way out of this dilemma no matter the odds, I have concluded that the only way out of this mess is to separate Hamas' entire military and political leadership from the oppressed citizenry of Gaza (and yes, it is absolutely a mischaracterization of fact to assert that Hamas is the legitimate ruler of Gaza). Easier said than done you say. But as long as Hamas rules Gaza, no amount of cajoling is going to end the vicious cycle of terror that Hamas is inflicting first and foremost on its own beaten-down Palestinian victims as well as on Israel.

Simple solution, STOP sending rockets into Israel, and accept monitors instead of crying when Hamas is responsible for ALL since they lit the proverbial fuse – get real and correctly place the blame where it belongs – ON HAMAS.

I did copy and paste this quote maybe 4 or 5 hoping people would understand the cause of the problem from the mouth of zoinists themselves like this guy:
"David Ben-Gurion told Nahum Goldman before he died:

"I don't understand your optimism.," Ben-Gurion declared. "Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country. Sure, God promised it to us, but what does that matter to them? Our God is not theirs. We come from Israel, it's true, but two thousand years ago, and what is that to them? There has been anti-Semitism the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that? They may perhaps forget in one or two generations' time, but for the moment there is no chance. So it's simple: we have to stay strong and maintain a powerful army. Our whole policy is there. Otherwise the Arabs will wipes us out".
"But how can you sleep with that prospect in mind," I broke in, "and be Prime Minister of Israel too?"
Who says I sleep? he answered simply. (The Jewish Paradox by Nahum Goldman, p. 99)"

I think the best defense on behalf of the Palestinian would come from the literature of early zionists; like ( Herzl, Ben Gurion, Moshe Sharett, Ze'ev Jabotinsky, Chaim Weizmann, Yosef Weitz, ..and many others, and without the need to read the Palestinian "propaganda".For example "The Arab problem" and their solution so called "Population transfer" would show how they saw the local population and their raciest ideology. Reading what they said would clear a lot of questions and issues we are seeing today, on the other hand these freaks would stay in closed dark social clubs talking about their sick ideas if they were not received the "love" from England and then US. Then a big part of the solution lay on these big powers to come forward and take their responsibilities first by acknowledging their roles and then fix the mess they created, but when? Maybe in couple hundred years..

UN Responsible For Permitting Hamas to Fire On Israelies From Vicinity Of School

Current rating: Not yet rated    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Let’s get real and stop falsely accusing Israel of creating a humanitarian crises when it is Hamas that has done so. Hamas could bring a halt to this crisis immediately if it wanted to! All it has to do is stop firing rockets at Israel, provide assurances with monitors that it will NEVER do so again, and return the kidnapped Israel soldier and his kidnappers – the war situation would them abruptly STOP. So let’s get real.

If someone fires on you from the vicinity of a school, you instinctively fire back. The question is WHY does the UN permit Hamas to fire on Israelis from the vicinity of their school? Their permitting them to do so makes them responsible – get real.

Wars should be eliminated and at present one religion is responsible for over 90% of the violence on earth as pointed out by an Australian newspaper as follows:

"Did you know that 90-95% of the conflicts in the world today are Muslims fighting non-muslims or each other? " [source - The Weekend Australian, November 26-27, 2005 AD]"

I am getting very tired of hearing Palestinians and other Ishmaelite crying crocodile tears and always trying to put the blame for what they do on others such as their conspiracy weavers tried to do about who did 9/11/2001 attack on the World Trade Center, etc. Screaming against what they call wrongful occupations when they are guilty of occupying Byzantine territory, Palestine which belongs to the Israelites [see Numbers the 34 th. Chapter in any Bible for proof of this, and their outright greed as they have over 98% of the Middle East, but still greedly want the less than 2% belonging to their sister tribe Israel] - its time we get real and put an end to this so the world can stop experiencing continuous Ishmaelite induced strife such as shooting rockets at Israel.

Solution, dissolve this false religion and rid the earth of at least 90% of the violence. But of course the politicians will not do what is needed since as Jeremiah 10:23 says, "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." (Authorized King James Bible; AV). To read detailed information, go to the following article:

Neighbor Love Requires Exposing False Beliefs and Wrong Actions
Posted by: iris89 on Jan 13, 2009 8:32 PM

Now, with respect Palestine there is a scripture all should consider, 1 Peter 3:11, “Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.” (Authorized King James Bible; AV).
But neither the Ishmaelites – Hamas, nor the Hebrews – Israelites are considering it. Strange as they are both descendants of Abraham, one by Ishmael and one by Issac.

Now, even though the Ishmaelites control over 98% of the Middle East, they are greedy for the less than 2% of the Middle East belonging to their brother tribe, the Hebrews – Israelites. This is NOT the way for the descendants of Abraham who walked with Almighty God (YHWH) to act.

Why is this? It is because neither is walking with the TRUE GOD as did Abraham, but both are being mislead by none other than Satan the Devil per 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (AV).

In fact, the Ishmaelites instead of pursuing peace in accordance with what Jesus (Yeshua) the Son of God said at Matthew 22:37-40 said, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (AV).

This is clearly shown by what one Australian Newspaper said, "Did you know that 90-95% of the conflicts in the world today are Muslims fighting non-muslims or each other? " [source - The Weekend Australian, November 26-27, 2005 AD]"

However, what the world needs is peace, not war. So clearly we can see that the Ishmaelites are in a false religion not walking with Almighty God (YHWH), the God of Abraham; nor are the Hebrews who do not recognize his son, Jesus (Yeshua), anymore than the Ishmaelites.

All need to be showing love for neighbor by exposing false beliefs that are ruining mankind by misleading him from walking with the True God of Abraham, Almighty God (YHWH).
