The video below shows Congress taking on the Department of Defense in the first oversight hearing held this year by the subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs on sexual assault in the military. Dr. Kaye Whitley, Director of Sexual Assault and Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) failed to show at the hearing despite being subpoenaed. Her "no show" left some members accusing the DOD of a cover-up.

Living by Example of Karl Rove

Hey, if KKKarl Rove can get away ignoring a subpoena then why can't other people? Besides, not showing up is much easier than lying under oath. Less paper work and prison rape involved.

Dr. Kaye Whitley shows great bravery and patriotism by disallowing the Commie/Liberal-Fascists/Terrorists to discredit our armed services, again. God Bless the Republiklan party. Sig Heil!

Military of All Nations Requires Some Secrecy

But if not complete transparancy which is unrealistic the military also definitely requires some level of accountability.

In the modern era of cameras on every cell phone and the awesome power of the internet to allow instantaneous world-wide communication(protected by free speech and freedom of the press under our US Constitution)it is exceeding difficult for any organization/institution to maintain almost any level of secrecy.

That is both good and bad. We need to birth some new balanced rules. in my opinion

DOD Enablers not Defenders

It's inconceivable that the director of the sexual assault program would be ordered by the DOD not to testify before Congress. This bitch, Kaye Whitley, is no friend of service women; she should be shit-canned and replaced by someone who has the guts to stand up to Bush's military. And the worthless prick, Michael Dominguez, should be castrated.

Both of these sleaze bags are enablers, not defenders.

If this is what the imperial soldiers do to their fellow citizens

one can only imagine the horrors they must be perpetrating on Iraqis, Afghanis and the many other nations that have suffered US military aggression.

Chalmers Johnson documents the moral depravity of the American barbarians is the norm:

"...two marines and a sailor from Camp Hansen in central Okinawa abducted, beat, and raped a twelve-year-old girl. It led to the biggest single demonstration against the United States since the Security Treaty was signed.

The reaction to the rape of 1995 from, for example, General Richard Meyers, who's today chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff -- he was then head of U.S. forces in Japan -- was that these were just three bad apples, a tragic incident, unbelievably exceptional. On research, you discover that the rate of sexually violent crimes committed by our troops in Okinawa leading to court martial is two per month! This was not an exceptional incident, expect for the fact that the child was so young and differing from many Okinawan women who would not come forward after being raped, that she was not fully socialized and she wanted to get even. This led to the creation of a quite powerful organization that I greatly admire, called Okinawan Women Act Against Military Violence .

I discovered over time, looking at these kinds of bases and other places around the world, that there's nothing exceptional about it. It's typical. Maybe the concentration is a little greater than it is elsewhere, but the record of environmental damage, sexual crimes, bar brawls, drunken driving, one thing after another, these all occur in the 725 bases (the Department of Defense -acknowledged number; and the [real] number is actually considerably larger than that) but 725 bases that we have in other people's countries. That led me to write Blowback, first, as a warning."

Leadership and following our Constitution is supposed to start from the top. Not having that, anything goes. Impeach the rogue Bush Regime, and Nancy Pelosi for criminal negligence in refusing to table impeachment. We need our Constitution back.

and the rapes their "rape rooms" as justification enough for invading Iraq. Sounds like far more rapes are committed by our own soldiers, and, worse yet, that these are institutional, not just the acts of two meglamaniacs.

Rape in the Military

I was raped twice at my first duty statiion and in retrospect I can tell you a few things:
1. It happens so frequently it's expected.
2. No one will believe you unless you have outward physical trauma.
3. Men and women do NOT belong in the same barracks.
4. Women on the battlefield will be raped, and so will men. Being female might make you a more desirable target but overall male rape in the military is not much better than prison - but men don't talk about that.
5. Sexual violence is a control tool, if it weren't our top leaders wouldn't have it on the to do list of torturing. It starts from the top, much like what parents teach their children. If it weren't acceptable it wouldn't be happening, therefore, it will never stop.

The government caters to RAPEST, because they are the RAPEST, and the MOLESTERS!!! It's time to get the government out of our pants, hearts, lungs, homes...and time to castrate all government rape!!!

If all the people that have been raped in service to our Country,by senior enlisted and officers, stood up and demanded redress...the Country would go broke in days.
There are not only service women getting raped,it's men too and children. Usually there's a token investigation, the perp is sent to rehab units and the victims get discharged.
Sometimes we're told if we make too much of it or push for a trial,we'll be the ones made to look like we asked to be raped. So to 'save your dignity' you're offered an Administrative
Discharge Under Honorable Conditions.WTF!!!!!
Honorable Conditions!??!!??? Why because we did'nt take it to the news like the Catholics?
Because we suffered in silence to save the face of our perticular branch of the service?
You're not given 'disability pay' for being a victim. You're offered nothing...except a way out the door.
I'll go on record now saying every Veteran male, female,or,dependant child who was ever raped, molested or sexually harmed in any way, should band together with all the other victims from any service period and sue the living shit out of the military as a whole and the government in a class action law suit.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Gay people. They have the right to life and happiness just like everyone else. I'm talking about Molesting Rapist Scum!!! The military is full of them, with chests full of medals and everything...except a soul.
We need to make this as public as the church scandals were. We need to pool our collective courage and sue the shit out of the military.
The life we save might be the kid's next door.

Makes me wonder, if we, or Our government cannot even protect our female troops from being raped, how do we, and why would we expect them to send any troop off the “battle” with proper armor, care for them when they get home, or to not lie to us about everything they do !!!.
