A Russian court on Friday found eight people guilty over incidents that broke out during a 2012 protest against President Vladimir Putin's third term in office.

Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky district court found the eight people on trial guilty of "mass riots" and violence against policemen, an AFP correspondent reported as police detained dozens of people protesting against the trial.
