Mitt Romney on Chris Christie’s weight: “His health is very solid, very good”
Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney reportedly took a shot at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's weight in 2012, but on Sunday's "Meet the Press," the former Massachusetts governor spoke highly of Christie and insisted that his health is "very solid" and "very good."
Though he had passed up Christie as a potential running mate in 2012, Romney said, "With regards to his health, he provided his health records to us. His health is very solid, very good. There's not an issue there."
Romney considers the New Jersey governor to be a favored candidate for the 2016 race, telling host David Gregory, "That's a very impressive guy with a great track record, with a demonstrated ability to work across the aisle, with support of labor and blue-collar voters in New Jersey."
