AlterNet Radio: Lobbyists Crafting 'NAFTA on Steroids'; Lakoff on Talking Liberally; Jim Hightower on the Plutocracy

This week on the AlterNet Radio Hour, Lori Wallach, head of Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch talks about the Trans-Pacific Partnership -- a mega-trade deal, being negotiated in secret, that would supersede domestic laws.

Then linguist George Lakoff joins the show to talk about his new book, The Little Blue Book: The Essential Guide to Thinking and Talking Democratic. Lakoff notes that progressives often find themselves explaining the minutiae of various policies, while their opponents frame issues in sweeping, moralistic terms -- and why that helps the right sell their disastrous initiatives.

Finally, the great populist writer Jim Hightower joins the show to talk about America's rising plutocracy, how it threatens our democracy and what can be done about it.

If you're in Washington, DC, you can tune into the show at 6 pm EST at 1480 AM. If you're anywhere else, you can stream it live at We Act Radio, and if you miss it, check back later for a podcast.
