Homeowners, Renters Launch "Home Defenders League" to Demand Action on Housing Crisis
Today marks the official launch of the Home Defenders League, a campaign that seeks to organize homeowners and renters to hold Wall Street and politicians accountable for the ongoing housing crisis.
According to the campaign:
The primary goal of the campaign is to stabilize home values for all Americans and help jumpstart the economy by calling on elected leaders and candidates to make Wall Street banks reset millions of mortgages to their fair market value hand and put an end to foreclosures.
The Home Defenders League will urge 2012 candidates who want homeowners' votes to support these and other related goals.
The campaign kicks off this weekend with phone banking, canvassing, a voter registration drive, and rallies and house parties in 22 U.S. cities.
