We've joked before here at AlterNet about Mitt Romney's lack of the fabled common touch, of his occasional passing resemblance to some sort of robot.

Perhaps fate has taken pity on the Mittbott and ofered him human-acting lessons, courtesy of "Inside the Actor's Studio" Host James Lipton (famously parodied on SNL by Will Ferrell).

Watch Lipton's video from New York Magazine's website, below. Lipton calls Romney's laugh "mirthless," and keeps going from there. If you want a more condensed version, scroll down.

The video caught the attention of Lawrence O'Donnell, who invited Lipton on his show to talk roboMitt and to rate the "performances" of various politicians.

Here's last night's Lawrence segments, the first of which highlights the best parts of Lipton's video, the second of which is the interview with Lipton himself.

I wonder if Romney will heed the call.
