Obama Says He Made Decision to Support Marriage Equality Before Joe Biden's Remarks

ABC aired the full Good Morning Americainterview with President Obama this morning, in which he announced his support for marriage equality. (Clips from the interview aired yesterday.) In the full interview, Obama reveals that he had planned to "come out" as a marriage equality supporter before Joe Biden made his off-the-cuff remarks recently, dashing the hopes of everyone on the internet who had been plotting like mad about how to get Biden to make more "gaffes" about civil rights issues. However, the president does say, "Would I have preferred to have done this in my own way, in my own terms, without I think there being a lot of notice of everybody? Of course. But all’s well that ends well."

Here's a clip from the full interview, via Mediaite. We'll post the whole thing as soon as it's made available.

UPDATE: The full GMA episode is now available online here.
