Last Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., the Culture Project's "Blueprint for Accountability" The Wall St-Washington Connection?" assembled an all-star cast of experts and artists to bring to life the drama, pain, and lessons of the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath.

Participants in this informative and moving event included panelists Eliot Spitzer; Rolling Stones' Matt Taibbi; author Ron Suskind; activist Van Jones, author of the new must-read Rebuild the Dream; Heather McGhee of Demos; and Jesse LaGreca of Occupy Wall Street. Actors Anna Khaja, Steven Pasquale, and Charles Parnell interspersed the panel discussion with a selection of dramatic readings that highlighted the experiences of people who had lost their homes and found themselves victimized by the destructive forces of a criminal and unaccountable financial system.

The Culture Project is aunique venue combining art and activism that first drew national attention with its acclaimed production of The Exonerated, which focused on the tragedy and injustice of those wrongfully imprisoned for murder. The series "Blueprint for Accountability" was launched in 2009 to bring together experts speakers in politics, journalism, academia and civic activism. Programs combine elements of theater, film, and lectures to create a distinct and entertaining exploration of critical issues.
