Women Directors Missing From the Oscars, Whose Voters are Mostly Old White Men

The L.A Time recently crunched the numbers and found that the Academy voters who will determined the big winners at tomorrow night's Oscars are... surprise, surprise! overwhelmingly white and male. Those of us who have often scratched our heads at their choices aren't surprised that they're not exactly in touch with the common people--but more importantly, they overlook some lovely films by women and people of color.

Collaborating with Melissa Silversteins' Women and Hollywood, feminist video remix artist Elisa Kreisinger made this awesome video highlighting some of the women-helmed films that were passed by this year, reminding us that the most interesting and subversive art isn't always the most popular.
