Gabrielle Giffords Steps Down from Congress
Gabrielle Giffords announced today that she will step down from Congress in an effort to focus on her recovery. Some have speculated that her spouse, astronaut Mark E. Kelly, could be a successor, but for now it's a sad day for Washington as one of its most beloved Representatives says goodbye. In the below video, she mentions she does not "remember much from that horrible day" when Jared Lee Loughner murdered six people and injured Giffords and 13 others at a public event a little more than a year ago. But she says she will "never forget the trust you placed in me to be your voice." It's heartbreaking and brave. Watch below, via AZ Central.
