Pat Robertson Frothed Up Over SNL Skit Lightly Mocking Tim Tebow, Palin Joins the Tebow Bandwagon
Pat Robertson's latest target? The funny folks at SNL. He's not offended by their humor which frequently bombs and falls flat though (hey! live comedy shows are hard!) but rather by their popular skit on Saturday night that mocked Jesus-loving NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, having a laid-back cool-dude Jesus come visit him in the locker room and give him a pep talk. Considering the extreme culture of some comedy these days, this was a fairly tame, fairly amusing sketch--but it was too extreme for Robertson.
Televangelist Pat Robertson in particular called the skit part of a tide of “anti-Christian bigotry that is just disgusting.” He railed, “If this had been a Muslim country and they had done that, and had Muhammad doing that stuff, you would have found bombs being thrown off and bodies on the street.” He said of Tebow, “This man has been placed in a unique position, and I applaud him. God bless him.”
Nothing like a little culture-clash Islamophobia thrown in for good measure. It's okay SNL folks, everyone's a critic these days.

Meanwhile, none other than Sarah Palin has some unintentionally hilarious words of praise for the mediocre football player.
"Oh, I am so pro Tebow. You know he is so unashamed of his savior, Jesus of Nazareth,” Palin said. “He knows Jesus is going to rock your world when you give it over to him, and he's bold about it, and he knows that the son of God should be honored and praised. Tebow does that and I respect it."
If she thinks Jesus is gonna "rock your world" than why is the hipster-Jesus of the SNL skit so offensive anyway?
