Oh, Dear: Tennessee Sponsor of Gun-in-Bar Law Arrested for DUI--With Gun!
File this one under "potentially deadly irony."
Representative Curry Todd, a Tenessee lawmaker who sponsored a bill to allow guns in bars for the purposes of "self-defense" has been arrested for driving while drunk--with a loaded gun in his front seat!
Eek.
From the Washington Post:
Police say in court documents that the Collierville Republican was pulled over in Nashville late Tuesday. He allegedly failed a roadside sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer. A loaded Smith & Wesson 38 Special was found in a holster stuffed between the driver seat and the center console.
According to the police affidavit, Todd was "very impaired and not in any condition to be carrying a loaded handgun." Ya think?
