Wow. Lawrence O'Donnell Comes Out Swinging Against "Unprovoked" Police Brutality at Occupy Wall Street

"Videocameras are their worst enemy:" Lawrence O'Donnell's stirring segment about NYPD violence at the Occupy Wall Street protests has gone viral.

In it, he carefully dissects video footage of this weekend's arrests and use of pepper spray, saying the record shows there is "no conceivable justification" for the use of the latter-- and declaring that while most of the police officers were acting calmly and non-violently, the bullies and troublemakers are being let off the hook. He worries that investigations of these rogue officers will be "a sham."

If this story doesn't go away, says O'Donnell, the police will be held to account. But he vows not to let it go away and declares that he will take back his criticisms only if these officers are disciplined: "American police have gotten away with another crime against the American people they are sworn to serve and protect."
