A Video Montage To Save The American Dream: If Obama Loves Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, Why Does He Cut Them?
Strengthen Social Security, an American coalition dedicated to doing just that, has launched a campaign to stop Obama from cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid with a video montage showcasing Obama's tumultuous relationship with the crucial programs. The video shows Obama saying things like “but Social Security is not the cause of our debt and our deficit, so don’t let folks fool you, by saying that in order to get a handle on our debt, we’ve gotta - we've gotta - slash Social Security " but then announcing “an additional $650 billion in cuts to entitlement programs—Medicare,Medicaid and Social Security.”
Responding to specuation that Obama may suggest cuts to these programs at his jobs and economy speech on September 8, or later, as the Super Committee fires up, the video is the first of a mini-campaign to stop the President from endorsing cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Pushing a positive message, the video and campaign are a plea for Obama to stay true to the American dream. You can sign their petition to save Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid here.
