Trumka Talks to Olbermann About Why AFL-CIO Will Stop Donating to Dems Who Aren't Staunch Labor Allies
Yesterday we ran an item explaining that the AFL-CIO has changed its electoral strategy to be tougher on Dems who aren't really friends of the working class, to focus more on movement building within and support of true progressive allies.
Of course, the media began running every which way on this story, but mostly they leaned towards some sort of "division in the ranks" narrative. Here is AFL-CIO leader Richard Trumka having a candid conversation with Keith Olbermann about exactly why this change in direction is happening, why there's so much disappointment with Obama, and what the union hopes to accomplish.
