Rupert Murdoch Pied with Cream During Parliament Hearings, Possibly by UK Uncut Activist Jonnie Marbles

The Murdoch hearings this morning have been quite interesting—there's a lot of amnesia on Rupert's part, and a lot of defensive deflecting by James—but it just got a little crazy when an unidentified man wearing a checked shirt raced up to Rupert Murdoch's seat and either threw something, or tried to punch him. It happened off camera—the focus was on the questioner at the moment—but another camera caught Murdoch's wife Wendi Deng leaping up to defend him with the reflexes of a featherweight.

Olbermann just reported that the attempted assaulter was allegedly a UK Uncut activist, who was attempting to smear Murdoch's face with shaving cream. He's currently doing instant replay and commentary on Current, watchable online here.

UPDATE: the Guardian reportsthat the activist calmly approached Murdoch with a plate of cream and smeared him (they've also got a screen cap). UK Uncut activist Jonnie Marbles has taken the credit.
