Education's Opportunity Gap: Find Out If Your School Is Robbing Your Children of a Fair Chance

ProPublica received and analyzed new data from the US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, including information from the federal level, to see if economic difference in schools affect the placements of students in Advanced Placement or higher level Mathematics and Science courses.  The answer for most states is yes, yes it does.  Using a specific detailed methodology, the research team at ProPublica developed a platform for users to find out if their children's schools are included in this particular failing of the American education system.
